Weatherproofing

Weatherproofing

An important consideration for me is weatherproofing after ruining one outfit due to sea spray. I carry my EM5 as a backup although I prefer shooting with an XE-1.

This is a good point. I know that on average it rains every other day during summer months in countries like Denmark and Norway. The bulk of the M9 with the EP2 is smaller than having the M8 with the M9. I will have m rainoat with me.

Two-month trip, a week in Toyko, two in Hong Kong and the rest of the time in China (Beijing and Shanghai).

I'll being traveling light - two A7s, the Noctilux, 35lux ASPH FLE, 90 cron and a GM1 12-32mm kit. I also have two tripods, one big one small and a bag of slide filters - those come in handy when shooting the ocean.

getting old I find traveling light gives me better photographs at the end. Now my ideal kit is one film camera and one (small) digital, as back up for when I need different iso.

I think you decision Raid is very good and for sure you'll take good photos! Already waiting to see a few...

PS: Pizza and Gelato in Norway? :D

Thank you PF. I am always slightly nervous before taking such a trip with the family. There are many things to remember to do before taking the trip.

In the computer age it's easier. I keep rtf file lists of my needs for my three main destinations or destination types. This way I do t forget the spare battery or the charger or more SD cards or my birding manuals or woolen hat etc etc
