I've recently moved to York and I'm enjoying the change of scenery.

Here's a few pics of an old barn I drive past on the way to my village. One morning last week I woke to find a thick fog around us with a frost on the ground. I thought it would be a great opportunity to photograph the barn.

I've previously had good experiences with Ilford HP5 in foggy weather so luckily that's what I had loaded in my camera.

And a bonus pic taken when out for cream tea :)

I'm always on the lookout for nice doggies:

And this just for a bit of fun

Thanks!

I kind of rushed the whole affair as I was on my way to work, but I'm pleased with the results.

Excellent! Did you take any shots of the whole barn in the fog? I'd be interested to see those also -- unless the crop was necessary to eliminate some unsightliness.

Nice doggies also.

Yes I took one of the whole barn but I don't like it as much for some reason. There was a nastily cut tree just to the left of the barn so I wasn't able to get quite the perspective I wanted, but here it is:

Nice shots.
My inlaws are a few miles outside of York- the city center is a great spot for walking and snapping pics. The surrounding countryside, even better.

Yes we're about 8 miles north in a lovely little village. Can't wait to explore some more!

all of the originals are near perfect to me.
Love the others, too.

Thanks, very kind of you to comment.

Also I took this one, but again I'm not so sure about it as I'd have liked to have had the space in front of the barn, however that ugly tree would have been in the shot.

... we have much space when you get time to explore

Is the barn on the side of the B1363? I suspect I have been driving past it for years. If you are near to the Rose and Crown we are probably in the same village!

Hi Andrew

Yes, that's right - and it does indeed sound like we're in the same village! I went to the Rose and Crown a few days ago as it's just down the road, I thought it was superb. I'm just behind the Blackwell Ox.

Sounds like a RFF Sutton-on-the-forest meet is in order!!

In that neck of the woods, I cannot go a visit to Yorkshire without having dinner at Jaipur Spice in Easingwold.

I've only been here two weeks and I'm already learning where the best places are!

I'm really taken with Miss Daisy's tea room if you know it. Next to/in Sutton Park.
