Big congrats on being in the show/experiment. Looks very interesting.
Pity about the timing of that title though.
The free donuts are funny touch. Somebody really should celebrate these guys after all the LA-area cops have been through the past few days.
Hope you get a huge crowd for this.

Well-known
These "shooting" puns are getting kinda old and lately a bit tactless.

Swoop, I can only speak for myself, but I absolutely did not intend any pun. The many recent shootings with guns are disturbing to me beyond words. Whether it's kids or cops, it bothers me. It is ironic, and not in sense of the word by which we sometimes mean to suggest "funny," that this photo "shooting" event, which was probably planned months in advance, was titled with that word. I wrote "unfortunate" because it seems the event/show was designed in part to honor the many good cops out there. I think that's great. My commentary was really intended to say, "I'll bet the organizers wish they had chosen another title" given the weight the word has taken on recently. Sorry if I wrote that in a way that caused you to think I meant otherwise. No pun intended. Not pun-worthy, not funny, this subject. In fact, I hope we photo people find other words to describe what we do when we push the shutter button. That word is simply too laden with baggage. I feel great sorrow over what happened in Kingsfan's home state. If that didn't come across earlier, know that it's what I mean.
Now, in Roger's defense, he's gentleman and almost certainly meant no offense or harm in quoting Bob Marley/Eric Clapton. I think Roger's timing was off on that one, but he doesn't live here and hasn't been bombarded with the TV news well as watch. So, we are all probably a lot more sensitive on this than he.

yes the title was planned way in advance of what happened here in CA and it did make photographing the police a lot more interesting
anyway the show ended last night and i was happy to learn that my one photo that sold went to the cop that was actually in the picture!
