I hate to admit it, but there's something appealing about that d-lux (JUST NOT FOR $1200).

I'd rather stare at a cat's ass than look at one of those Leicataxes. The wicked witch of the west on LSD has nothing on those things. On the upside, you do that and you'll guarantee that A: it will NEVER get stolen, and B: if for some really strange reason it does anyway, you'll have ZERO issue getting it returned. I can just picture the owner going in to the police station to report the theft:

"Pardon me, officer, I'd like to report a stolen camera."
(Officer reaching under the counter, pulling out the camera)" You mean this one? The pawn shop down the street turned it in half an hour ago. Said it was so ugly it was scaring his customers out of the store".

PS 30 or 40 years ago I chose a Leica because I thought it would be cheap over the years, I still have it and I was right.
