You guys will not believe this!!!!!!!

I want to tell you how we met. I was at the VA(veterans) hospitol for cardio tests. I had my small digital in my coat pocket. This was back in fall 2002. I was taking some photos outside the hospitol of the veterans. While we were in the waitng room he saw the camera. Come to find out he was an army combat photog from the Korean war. he had spent 20 years in before army before retiring in '71. he had covered Korea and Viet Nam for the Army and Stars and Stripes magazine. After he had retired he worked for a Shreveport newspaper before becoming a wedding/studio photog. He had told me numerous times he had tired of shooting journalism style and had not shot anything other than MF since '75. That was why I was surprised when he brought out the '79 M4-2. He promised to show me some of his old photos from the wars

Cool story Rick....and this gentleman sounds like a real character, be a great opportunity to look over some of his old photographs as well. Congrats! 😀

When I was a kid, mom said once: If there something you really want for yourself, be patient and wait. There´ll be a time (the right time) in your life when what you´ve been long time looking for, will be yours.

She was true, and it happened to me (my Contax II). Congratulations!!This was your time, so enjoy it!

Meanwhile, let´s make some room for the people in the waiting list!

See if he would mind you posting some of his photos here on RFF. That would be most interesting.

I awoke tis morning and immediatley looked on the night stand to see if it was still there. Last Niights Christmas parade was a joy to shoot. Everything that has ever been said about the Leica experience was a lie. It is even better in real life. I have already shot two rolls and will get them developed tonight. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and uplifting words

can't wait for you to post your first pics - and a snapshot of the camera itself!
