Some great shots of Titarenko working in his New York studio by Ted Forbes:

Alexey Titarenko is probably the most well known Russian photographer in the art world today. Alexey's most visible work, City of Shadows, documents the profound social changes following the collapse of the Soviet Union in the 1990's. I first came across Alexey's work in 2007 when I was...

The link in this post #16 is broken, but I found the new link - live page:

Looks like they added an "a" in the link URL to his last name (I am guessing to differentiate) because there is also a "Filip Titarenko" profiled in their pages now.

I understand the interest in his work some 30 years ago since the collapse of the Soviet Union was an enigma to most. In today's world, most of us are interested in other things. Cheers, OtL.

Abstract Clarity
My interest in his work has nothing to do with the collapse of the Soviet Union. My interest is in his use of long exposures with crowds of people.
In the last year I’ve been doing a lot of long exposures; mostly at the beach and rocky coastline. When I saw what Alexey Titarenko did with long exposures and people in the city I was immediately fascinated, after all I live in a place that has plenty of crowds in the city. I’ll take my inspiration from anyplace I can get it!
All the best,
Mike
