Your computer monitor?

I use a pair of NEC 2190 UXi monitors and calibrate them regularly. While travelling I use a Thinkpad W520.

Aside from my laptop, I use a Hitachi SuperScan Pro 800 CM800U. It's an incredible CRT and when it dies I'm going to be really sad.
That is in storage now though so I'm just using the screen on my IBM laptop till I get more settled.

Until two months ago, my primary display was the Eizo F980, their best-ever CRT. The glass was made by Hitachi with a uniquely fine-pitch (.22mm diag) Invar shadow mask. We won't see that kind of quality again.

That said, I now use the Eizo FlexScan SX2762W LCD: 27", IPS, aRGB, calibratable hardware LUT, 30-bit color, selectable orientation (I use portrait). Side-by-side, it's clear that flat-panel has come into its own. Even three years, that wasn't the case.

I have an Eizo, Old Mac Cinema display and a Macbook. They are all profiled with a Colormunki as are all my printers.

It's the minimum you should do if you care at all how you present your work.

What kind of computer monitor do you use for image editing and viewing?

I use a rectangular one, though admittedly I did set the contrast and brightness with a test PDF. This is adequate only because I don't have any requirement to print digital files, apart from the occasional 'happy-snap' type of shot where the local photo place probably does their version of auto-correct.

IPS panels have become so cheap that there is no reason why every photographer should not use one. Maybe monitor GAS is a cure for image quality GAS.

Indeed, monitor with IPS panel should be the best choice. Cheaper brand would be LG, Samsung, etc.

Something more expensive like DELL Ultrasharp, 23 inch up.

Even more expensive would be NEC Spectraview, Eizo, etc.

I don't know about Mac monitor but I read it's becoming a standard in photo industry.
