Your Experiences with Neopan 1600?

My best results with Neopan have been with Diafine, which is a dev I don't usually like. After Diafine, my next choice would be XTOL, and then Rodinal.

I used it at my brother's wedding last year and wasn't happy with it, but it was REALLY dark when I was using it, and I didn't really have an accurate meter.

(when Neopan 1600 goes wrong)

I've tried it again since then and gotten better results, but still nothing like what's been posted here. It was really dark when I took this one too.

(Neopan 1600 slightly better)

I guess my exposures are just really off. These were both lab developed, I don't know what in.

Melanie, those both look pretty good to me considering the challenging lighting. I think if anything it's lighting/metering issues, not the film.

It's tough to shoot in low light and you've got a big highlight on the bride's dress and the groom in shadows.

The devil guy is pretty well exposed it's just those bright lights that are blowing out.

The stuff isn't magic, it's just fast film.

I just ordered some FUJI super-prodol developer from Japan to try out with it. My last batch in HC-110 was OK but the grain was a bit mushier than I like, which I find happens in HC-110. Going to try some stand developing in Rodinal next roll.
