"When I held that gun in my hand, I felt a surge of power ... like God must feel when he's holding a gun."

I have lost my copy of Lolita, but my favorite quote is some very luscious incarnation of she took the shirt from the suitcase and as if it were some exotic bird, held it out at arms length by the tips of its fiery wings

Apologies to anyone who knows this quote - I have certainly wrecked it. When I find my copy of the story, I will edit this.

Of course, there is always the classic quote from Nabokov, one that applies well to our mutual love : Caress the detail, the divine detail

There is my sig of course, but also this one...

"A pipe gives a wise man time to think, and a fool something to stick in his mouth."

But one to live by is this...

"Small minds talk about people, mediocre minds talk about events, but great minds talk about ideas."

Positively ecclesiastical...

"To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven."

and...

WWYD (What Would Yoda Do?)

The last was mine of course :D.
