With respect Magus; you do tend to express your opinion so strongly that to someone unused to your style it may appear your opinion was in truth an assertion of fact, as such it would require some evidential proof? not a criticism more an observation

Then I regret bring the matter up, I unfortunately picked up an emphatic tone that is clearly not there in that post.

Apologies

That's how it appeared to me, as well. It looked to me like the gauntlet had been flung, and I love a good verbal spar now and then. :D

No harm, no foul. Magus and I have settled our largely imaginary differences off line. :)

Magus: Enormous difference. The little girl in Kevin's shot is way younger than the women in yours, plus she is caucasian and the child in Kevin's shot appears to be dark-skinned. Amazing the difference between the Hex and the Cron!

LOL! I'll take a close look later. I'm on a laptop with some diffuse but strong window sidlighting, so I need to hope on a different computer to really look.

I've voted for the current version 6. But I emphasise I vote for the silver/chrome version, not black...and for those of who have not made a comparison...there is a big difference in the way it 'hefts'.

That's why I love my Summarit (and its cousin, the pre-asph Summilux). Those of us who own it, are glad there weren't any "me too" designs. After all, the "me too" designers wanted biting sharpness and contrast at all costs, for the least cost. Thank you, Taylor Hobson & Cooke :D

We let the "sharpness glory" be claimed by the others. ;) We just look at (to paraphrase Sith Lord Rove) The Glory

I need advice on the summicron III i think from 1969 to 1979, with long throw focus. Is it really under the rigid and latter version or is it ok?

I place mine between the DR/Rigid and my new 50 2.8. Im other words it does not have the clinical sharpness, but still very nice.
