What I LOVE about this lens
is that it still has a vintage 'Feel' yet enough contrast to give it a more Modern Edge

Version 6 for me. I had a collapsible one a while ago, but with some minor scratches it used to flare undesirably
(even with a hood)

I think you hit it on the [lens] head with this idea. Its a nice middle ground with contrast between the older lower and modern high, still very sharp, and optics aside; its small, light, and very well built. I also like the longer focus throw and its sooo smooth like butter.

That's really me
My favorite is the collapsible. Light weight and .... collapsible. Makes my setup small enough to fit in a coat pocket. Oh and the images it helps me make are fantastic.

Collapsible. Sold one to my friend with my M3, that one was a scratched one, but the tonal on b/w always make me want to get one back. Few days ago, got another one in a very good deal, glass is very nice this time. The b/w tonal of Coll. is the best among others, esp. modern cron., as I had tested all version with my friend once. I also tested the Radioactive version with my normal version, both are identical.

I've only ever tried the collapsible, but I love it so much! Love it's "signature" that gives things a very unique look.

my pleasure, as someone else pointed out, the palm/frozen helicopter rotor/parasol parallelism works really well!

I like the last version. Absolutely charming, nice bookeh. Very personal.
But I "hate" the built in cap. I bought a 39mm screwmount cap that is offered "for the elmar". [Why: I tend to keep a spare lens in my pocket; the retractable hood will shove back; and I think it is too short anyway.]

I`m getting confused now.I thought that I had the 4V , Silver with built in hood. Number 389****.
Like it but not the built in hood.Wouldn`t be so bad if you could twist and lock the thing

Most of us will be probably name the one we have and know. I've had my DR for 30 years, handed down by my uncle with his M3 when he got too old to use it, so there's extra sentimental value. BTW is it true what I've read (on another site) that the DR will not fit on the M9?

True, you can only focus to 3m.
