youtube to dvd software ?

can you hook up your TV to mirror your computer through an internet connection?
OR
many BRay or DVD players can play You Tube directly through their 3rd party software in the player, along with Netflex, Hulu, and other video services.

I don't think there is way to save a You Tube video to your computer.

I would suggest you do this in 2 steps:

1) Download the video (lots of web based ways to do it)
- I've used http://www.clipconverter.cc/

2) Burn the video using any video to DVD converter (some free ones on Internet)
- just search for "open source video to DVD converter"

This worked for me when I wanted to download my Nephew's wedding video and burned it on DVD for my mum.

YMMV

There are a lot of ways to go.

I don't generally use (archaic) CDs and DVDs myself, but I do commonly download YouTube video to watch off line. I use a browser plugin for Firefox, my preferred browser, to download the videos. There are several such plugin in the "official" plugin store, all free add-ins.

There are a number of apps that can burn the video files to DVD. Some bill themselves as video converters rather than as burning software.

Exactly what apps will work for you depends to a large extent on what operating system (OS) you use.

I'd try keepvid.com to capture YouTube videos. It's free and works well. Just copy paste the link of the video and then download. for DVD conversion, there's a great software called ConvertXtoDVD. Not sure if it's free but it's extremely user friendly. Just drag and drop your downloaded YouTube videos and then convert. Makes DVDs super easy from many video formats.

Hope this helps

On a Mac, i use Free Rapid Downloader. Just copy the youtube URL and start it. It downloads easily. Then, i copy it to a USB hard drive, and piug that drive into my Playstation 3 or Xbox One. You could also stream it from your computer via Plex, using either of these two devices, or the latest Apple TV. Not sure if the other streaming USB stick devices/Roku work with Plex, but i believe they do.

Making a DVD is an unnecessary (archaic!) step if you have one of the above devices. But, i imagine you could use HandBrake to convert the file to a format that can be dragged into Toast.

With a ROKU, it is as simple as adding YouTube as a channel (free). With mine (ROKU 3), it automatically streams the highest quality available.
