It's actually the first special edition of a digital Leica (that I remember), where I really like the design - except for the focus tab. Too expensive for me, though. My plain Volks-M10 must be enough. I would like to really shoot and use this one, instead of only collecting it...

I would be embarrassed to carry and use it. Like all of the other designer editions, it is a senseless luxury bauble. Sure, it adds a few extra dollars to the bottom line, but at what cost? The diminishment of the brand as a serious camera company. But it is consistent with Leica issuing on the same day a rebadged Panasonic Lumix TZ200 in gold at a 30% premium for the fashion accessory set, as well as a couple of pedestrian looking €10,000 watches. It is increasingly a luxury products company like Hermes, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton focusing on conspicuous consumption of velben goods.

part of me thinks this really should have been an M10-D. No screen on the back would make this design really special.

It looks nice, the finish is a little bright for my druthers but,eh? I’m not in that market anyway...

Ridiculous price, stylish and minimalistic design.

I like to see a Zorki 4 kitted up like that.
Hmm, it's not quite in the same league aesthetically as a DB4GTZ, which was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the thread title.

Interesting but I think the strap lugs spoil the line.

Agreed! I quite like the re-styled body though. This could work well as the next iteration of the M line without the bling and black 'Vulcanite'?

If anyone needed convincing that Leica has bottomed out as a genuine and relevant camera manufacturer and become. well, words alone cannot properly describe what this "thing" is supposed to be. Tasteless over indulgence for the very rich and very clueless? It really is in shockingly bad taste. Who is running things over there now? Barnack is probably spinning in his grave. Now pimps have a nice camera to covet though. It needs a feather mounted on top at a jaunty angle, like the one Steve Martin had in his hat in The Jerk.

The grey dot, though, unprecedented.

Well, I dunno, their working cameras work and work well and even I can afford old ones that work. Luckily it's not illegal to be rich or poor, yet.

different strokes for different folks. I enjoy seeing all the different renditions. They all look great thru the viewfinder of my M4.
