Hi all,

Anyone with experience with the Zeiss 18/4 on M9? I recently purchased this lens and was surprised by the amount of colour shifts on the sides of photos. Its almost like the CV 15/4,5.

It is of course quite easy to correct with Cornerfix (thanks), but still

Another issue; I use CL Pola on the 18/4, and it seems that the colour shifts are even worse with this. My imagination only?

Other than that great lens!

I have used mine on my M8 with wonderful results. Just got my M9. Looking forward to trying this combination out.

Should have responded to this ages ago. I actually do not like this lens on the M9. Magenta corners all around. This lens does not perform as well on the 9 as it does on the 8. Go figure.

After researching the M8 and 9 to no end while considering a purchase, I learned that they essentially have the same sensor technology (albeit with fixed IR sensitivity on the M9). The smaller sensor on the M8 was pushing the limits of the incident angle in the corners as it was, so bigger sensor=greater angles=more color shift. Not sure how they solved it with the M240.

I too have extensively used the Zeiss Zm 18mm on the M9. Like most, I coded the lens as a Leica 21mm f2.8 pre ash and for the most part, color casts are no longer prevalent. It's now become a way of life with most mirrorless cameras that in camera corrections or profiles of some types are applied when using wide and ultra wide angle lenses, especially those of the camera's manufacturer. Not always 100% successful or perfect but up till now on the M9, it's work fairly well.

I code it as a 21mm 2.8 ASPH as well, and have no problems whatsoever with color casts. A couple of examples:
