Zeiss 21mm f/2.8 Filter?

I happily received a 21mm 2.8 in the mail today and am wondering about filters. The lens bulges a bit and I fear I might hit the glass if I put a filter on it. Does anyone have any experience with this lens and filter usage?

None of my filters hit. leica nor B+W. I can't speak of any other brands.

The Ziess product page lists the ZM version filter size as M 46 x 0.75

The ZF, ZF.2, ZE and ZK version filter size is shown as M 82 x 0.75

Wanted to check before putting money on some B+W brand filters.
Another question. I have some larger filters and thought about using a step ring but am worried about the extra height creating a lot of vignetting. Is the worry warranted?
