I am interested in buying Zeiss Biogon 28/2.8 as a cheaper option to Elmarit asph. 28/2.8. I am not interested in previous versions of Elmarit 28 due to their size and the fact that price of second hand copies in good conditions is higher than Biogon 28.

Please tell me your experience with this lens and if somebody has Elmarit asph. 28/2.8 as well, how this two compare, sharpness, bokeh, etc. Thanks in advance

I have used the 28 biogon on an M8, and it worked great. Since I originally got the lens with the idea of also buying a M8 down the road, but ended up not getting one I have not really used the lens much. Its a fine lens, wish I could use it more.

Thanks Avotius, I have seen your mini review and that was the main reason why I started thinking is it worth getting Leica 28 if Biogon is that good. But then I read few not so positive comments about Biogon and that made me post my question on this forum.

Most of the engative comments I have seen about the zeiss 28 are that it is not as good as the leica....on paper. In the real world I would say the only difference is how they render differently. You can always get one used and if you dont like it sell it for what you got it for.

Can you please tell me what was your experience using it wide open, regarding the sharpness and light fall off ?
