Hey!

I've had this lens for just over a year.

I've always taken good care of it.

Do you think the artifacts pictured are just dust or that they may have come from inside the lens?

The more I look at it, it doesn't look like normal dust.

I'm considering taking it back to where I got it.

Any ideas would help!

Cheers,

Dan.

It looks a bit worse than I'd think for 1 year. The larger parts look a bit regular to be dust.

It doubt you can see it the photos, so do you want to be without your lens?

That's a lot more than you should be seeing after one year. I have had mine for a few years, and I don't have any visible dust inside this lens. It's not my most used lens, but it has seen use and some dusty environments. I bought the lens used, it looked like new at that time.

Here's my Biogon 2/35. Can't see anything inside, despite the front surface being a bit dirty. Bought new about a year ago.

Dear Dan,

can you tell in which climate zones the lens has been previously?

IMHO, the best care doesn't help, if it's been e.g. in a tropical area but wasn't handled properly right after return to one's home somewhere in a Mediterranean area e.g.

No crazy weather conditions really. It came with me to Japan in Jan 2015 for a few weeks but it wasn't even that cold. The rest of the time it's been with me in Perth, Australia.
