Hello,
After browsing the forum for years I've finally decided to join following some camera servicing.
Given an old Contaflex Super by relations which has come to need a service the best bet seemed to be to buy another cheaply then to have a practice.
This isn't my first foray into camera servicing but the Contaflex does have some quirks - like screws accessed from inside. It's back together but will be coming apart again for some tweaking, I don't have a service manual but am not too concerned for this example.
This example turned out to have a seemingly near seized shutter drive gear in the bottom of the camera body, and has marks to suggest it was serviced in the past, at least partially.
Disassembling the shutter I've tried cleaning it with the rear element in place but it feels like not doing the job properly that way.
Has anyone got experience of removing the rear element from the unit focussing model?
