Zeiss Contax Month - April

both this and picture above were shot on Agfa Ultra 50, expired 20 years ago, both wide open with J-8.

Nice Kiev pics. I have a black 4a, which has some issues. It was my Contax gateway camera (it is largely a Contax).

I want to upgrade glass to Zeiss, preferably post-war Optons, T coatings should make a difference cause I like to shoot contre-jour and J-8 is terrible. I also have a battered Triotar 85/4, looks like it needs polishing the barrel and helicoid to run smoothly. But I'll stick to Kiev body, it's almost 20 years younger than my Contax II shelf queen and it really shows, still being a '52 model it's beautifully put together.

My Contax shooting was interrupted somewhat by Covid-19. I just had a couple of rolls developed from March/April.

Attention all Contax afficianados- April is coming up, and April is unofficially the official month for Contax on the Rangefinder Forum. This will be the third annual RFF Zeiss Contax (and reparational derivatives) Month. If not already loaded, load 'em up and start producing images!

Just a reminder- April is Zeiss Contax month. Let's start seeing those images produced since the beginning of the year on your Contax cameras. I will start out with one:

After the California Blueridge fire (November 2020) I found myself shooting a lot of after-fire scenes. Even today I am coming across burned trees and other effects. Here is an example of one from March (I am not sure it happened during the Blueridge, but I think it did). I used the Contax iia; Carl Zeiss 35mm f2.8 Biogon; ADOX CHS 100 II; HC110

I have been using my Contax IIa a lot recently and loving it. Here are a couple from earlier this year...

Nice detail, beautiful shot. Really shows the potential of the Biogon. What is the actual description on the lens? Mine is "Carl Zeiss", not Opton, no "T".

H, ha, better dust off the Contax. Actually putting a test roll through a Jena Contax this week. Not sure I'll keep it. I find the pre-war Contax with their gold rangefinder patches easier to focus.
