Zeiss Ikon Box Tengor 56/2 advice wanted

Hello! New to the forum, pretty new to film photography.

I recently bought a box tengor 56/2 because I wanted to try my hand on medium format film, and I found the 56/2 for cheap that was the camera I chose.

So..

Do any of you have some advise about the does and don'ts with this camera?
Like which ISOs do you have good experience with, any recomended filters and so on.

Bear in mind that I have no experience with 120 film and only little experience with 35.

Any advice/help is helpful

You got the one with the chrome trim? I'm looking for one of those myself. Bloody gorgeous things.

The shutter fires at 1/30th so you'll be wanting to use a slower film, probably 100ASA.

I guess with 100ASA, 1/30th and f/8 would be equivalent to 1/125th at f/4 soooo use f/9 for dark overcast, f/11 for bright overcast and f/16 for a bit sunny? And don't shoot in bright sun I guess =P

The 56/2 is slighlty less limited than the older Tengors. Larger aperture range, variable focus (3-step) and a coated 2 element lens.

You're limited to f/9 to f/16 and 1/30th which will work fine with a 100-125 ISO film on Sunny days and 200/400 ISO films on overcast days.

Not sure I would call it chrome, but yes. Yeah it is a super pretty camera.

I'd suggest getting a tripod and cable release, and holding a lens hood in place when you take the pic.

I've been able to cobble together a filter/lenshood combo that will stay on my Gevabox 6x9 as its 'lens barrel' sticks out from the body.

I thought about a 56/2 as it has a doublet lens, but it can't do multi-exposures and the focusing has three fixed points, whereas the Gevabox can do multi-exposures and has a lens barrel that can be left at any point between the 3 main focus distances, and it also has 3 f-stops.

I have wondered if it would be possible to swap the lens for one from a 56/2, but I don't know how that would affect the focus distances.
