zeiss ikon is on the move...

gee frank, i don't remember laughing at you at the time.
Sorry. This was totally uncalled for on my part and so I have just wiped the smirk off my face. I don't know what came over me and I should have known better since I know how frustrating waiting can be. Joe, I found taking a drink helps. ;)

my heart skipped a beat for a second when i got home.
there was a notice saying a parcel was waiting at the local postal station.
but then i turned it over and saw that it did not have any money owing on it.
i figured that could not be the zeiss and damn it i was right!

my auto up for the 50/1.5 was here and required a sig before pick up.

the good news is that the auto up is really for the 50/1.5 (i kinda wondered) and it's in great shape.
(almost pristine...;))

maybe tomorrow...

Remember to take pictures when THE parcel arrives, Joe. Get dressed first though.

Maybe if it comes tomorrow, you could wait until your weekend coffee meeting with your buddies and one of them could take the pics at your coffee shop.

if it comes tomorrow frank, the pics from saturday would be a re-enactment:)

i am trying not to hope for a quick delivery as that is so rare in these parts.

i am torn truly.

my history has not allowed for the owning of multiple systems.
when i have changed from one to another i usually had to sell off the old, add some $$ and then buy the new.
owning 2 systems may freeze me in place.

i have the benefit of using all my lenses though with the use of adapters so this may help.

for now, i am seeing myself use the canons when i want 2 cameras along for the ride and 2 or 3 lenses also.

i see the ikon as the loner, just me, one camera and one lens. back to basics with the latest camera out there!
ironic...?
if i can swing it, then the zm 28 and 50, down the road of course.

somewhere along the way, i just might sell one of the canon bodies because i'm thinking one of them might not get much use.

but then, who the hell knows...')

joe

joe, the lenses will all still work - that's the beauty of the adaptors. As for the bodies, well, yes you might decide to sell one to get back down to a number you're comfortable with. But don't look at them as being anything other than complementary cameras. While you can't use the ZM lens on the P's, every Canon lens you have will work on the ZI.

I've rarely kept many cameras as I've moved along. But even as I've mostly moved to Canon LTM, I've kept my first Kiev and that pre-war Sonnar. There will always be times when you need something different. I think you'll find that as much as you enjoy using the ZI (and I do believe you will), you'll still find plenty of reasons to shoot the P's.

You may need to get a second or third life, but that's a different problem... :D
