Zeiss Ikon Sale!

I found that a change in the link format was required. It is actually simpler now. In the Edit Signature section of the User Control Panel, use the Insert Link icon (globe with chain link) to point to your gallery link. The rest of it (what is displayed) is the same.

Its funny that CameraQuest gets pushed out of the game, but Adorama can list these $300 cheaper than what Stephen was selling them for.

I hate Adorama, but otherwise this is a great price. I wonder if they're clearing out their stock due to lack of sales because of competition with grey market dealers?

I think Adorama is clearing out their product. Cameraquest got squeezed because Stephen Gandy does his business only online.

I think Carl Zeiss is going to have real steep learning curve when it comes to dealing with retailers and it will be an education for them.

dang, no more black bodies?

At that price I wouldn't care about the color. If I didn't have one already, that price might be enough to get me to deal with Adorama again.

It might be the end of the "Limited Edition" line that has a small case and a number marked at the top with those words. At that price let's grab one.

I think

I think

than the announcement of the new models isn't helping keep prices of the old ones up.

This is tempting, but on the other hand, I want to stay with the oldies.
If I get a new body, the older bodies would sit there. This is not good for me.

ahh, never mind, nothing definite, but there was a discussion of something in the pipeline with smoother ergonomics, etc., that I was following, and I just realized those pages were suddenly taken down so maybe there was some reason for that. Keep an eye out on the other forums.

well this has seriously started to sway me away from a leica m6. I would like to wait a while though and see what is actually gona happen with this, if its just a fluke, if a new model is in the pipes, or if there is gona be anymore price drops

Zeiss's introduction of a new film camera made no sense to begin with. Don't get me wrong, I love film too but there is not enough of a market for 3 players in the film rangefinder arena.
Now digital is different

Joe is probably right

You can try calling Zeiss or their distributors and ask. If they say there is no new product coming, they may be right.

If they say they don't know, or don't comment on unannounced future products, or that they are constantly innovating but have no product roadmap for consumers at this point, then that would be interesting.

I wouldn't let it slow you down from considering a $999 price on a new current one though, it is what it is, which from most accounts a great product.
