so I have an m6ttl and a ZI, I always heard people talking about the m6 having VF that flare badly, but comparing both, I find my ZI VF flare a lot more....
Not sure if any ZI user have the same problem, as I have not heard any much complain about the VF flaring at all.... it is especially obvious when shooting in the light or bright area.
is there any way to reduce that flaring?

I never had flaring, and the 'white out' thing was so much better on the ZI than on the M7s i had - including the last M7 with the 'finder upgrade.'
Yeah, the patch can disappear, but I still maintain the Ikon finder is better than a Leica.

Don't confuse flare with "bad" eye alignment:
If the patch disappears, you are not aligning your eye properly.
If the patch goes white, it flares. You clearly see the edges, but the patch has no secondary image/contrast, it's just white. Or mostly white.
Which one is it?

looks like i just need to get more practice in aligning my eye with the viewfinder...
the problem is, the viewfinder is so big that is so easy for your eye to misalign with it

Flare is no problem with my ZI, and definitely annoying but infrequent with my M6 classic. Only this morning I was shooting in normal sunny conditions and it flared badly. Things got better after I cleaned the huge finger print I had on the front

Hi, the m6 flares a lot more than the ZI, which may flare under demanding circumstances like afternoons and shooting on difficult anlges facing the sun.
What a great camera the zi...
and what a gem the m6, nothing compares to them...had to let them go...

Have never experienced flare with my ZI, hard to see the shutter speed in bright conditions...
