I've ordered from Foto Mundus before. They usually have great prices on their stuff and ship very quickly (I just received a VC 21mm Color-Skopar for just under 200 Euros. It's lovely.)

949 EUR sounds great for a new Zeiss Ikon.

Used ones are selling around 700 - 900, so I would guess that 949 is a good price for a new one. The "standard" price is around 1450 here in Germany.

i just bought a 1,5 Sonnar bundled with a body!
as I have already my own body ;-) I would sell this one!

everybody who is interested can buy the Zeiss Ikon Body for €900!
Its new, boxed, incl. the bill of the dealer and the original inernational Zeiss warranty. of course its unused!

@ mrohlfing bin regeläßig auch in wien! 🙂 PM?

That black beast has arrived!!

To my surprise, it is hardly larger than my Bessa R3A and fits into its halfcase quite comfortably (actually that halfcase is the lower part of the ERC I got free with my first Bessa L).

The eye correction lens from the Bessa fits, too.

First impressions:

The shutter sound is a little nicer than the Bessa

The viewfinder is a little better than the Bessa, though not 1:1 like the R3A(well, you can't have everything)
The rangefinder patch disappears when the eye is not centered, like the Bessa, but not like the Leica M2, where the patch stays there, no matter, where the eye.
The position of the framelines is set by the lens, not by a lever on top of the camera. Preview of the other framelines is possible however by a lever on the camera front, like the Leica.
Focusing should be easier than the Bessa because of the long base length.

Film transport in both ways works smoother than the Bessa.

The AE lock is more sophisticated than the Bessa.

Well, I'm looking forward to see the first film out of the ZM!

Just checked hong kong store last night, the brand new is HKD$8600(840euro), a 90% new one is HKD7000 (690euro).

Foto Mundus is selling 3 ZM on Ebay for EUR 949,00

They are unused, but have been at an exhibition "untouched in a glass box" and have the full 3-year warranty.

What do you think, is it a good price?

But, alas, no matter what you think, I could not resist the temptation and just ordered one 😀

I bought the first one of the three (I see they have all gone now) and it is perfect. Registered it with Zeiss and got my three year warranty from them by email. Great camera and great price. Foto Mundus are now advertising them at EUR 1,399 so I reckon the three of us who bought them at EUR 949 got a bargain.

No, I bought the first one (on March 7th) and there is still one left today! 😕
The second buyer was e***s on March 13th

Did they have a another offer?

Anyway, with so many RFF customers they could give us a special RFF discount! 😀

You are right it must have been a different offer as I bought mine on 15th March and it was the first of the three cameras that were on offer at the time. This particular offer ended on 23rd March apparently with two cameras unsold.

The one now on sale (offer ends today in 12 hours time) is yet another listing on eBay by Foto-Mundus. They can't all have been kept under glass at an exhibition, or can they?

They can't all have been kept under glass at an exhibition, or can they?

I'd be very supicious of that claim. It would be different if the ZI was a new announcement with a release date 3 to 6 months in the future, but a camera that's been out for 4 or 5 years, why would it be kept under glass anywhere at this point? Probably handled as a demo at the least, more likely they were sold and returned for some reason.

Yes, I was a little suspicious, but mine at least looked as if it never had been out of the box and it works flawlessly - so, what do I want more?

Mine too looked brand new in its box, and also works perfectly. I was able to register it on the Zeiss website and received their three year warranty 🙂

So I am quite content. But it does make you curious.
