Hi guys, I just got a very nice Zeiss Ikon ZM limited edition. Everything seems to work. But one screw on the back is missing and the other was loose, I tighten it. But now I need to find a replacement for the empty one. I wrote an email to zeiss they responded immediately, saying that they could probably send me one, and ask were I was writing from. I replied and had send already 3 emails and no more replies at all.

Anyone knows the exact screw model? Size or something.

Here is a pict:

Thanks!!!

Looks like the screw on the left might fit on the hole on the right. Did you already try? It could serve as a template to hunt down the missing one.

Yes it's the same, or looks like the same, just didn't want to take it out. Since will take all the finder part down. Not sure if it will cause any calibration issues afterwards.

Anyone have any further advice on where to source one of these screws? One black one wiggled itself out on my ZM too. Perhaps even the precise thread size would help.. Zeiss has not responded to my inquiry yet..

Thanks!

Hi they actually sent me the screws for free. But after using the camera for a while i had to send it for repair to germany. The iso dial felt apart... Camera is back seems to be workingly perfectly. Hope it lasts..

Same thing once happened to one of my ZIs while I was on the road and had no screwdriver to fix it myself. I took it to a small town camera tech who had never seen a ZI before. It took him 5 minutes to reassemble it while I waited and he charged me $5-. I was back on the road in 15 minutes.

Don't think cameras are exotic complex pieces that very few people in the world can repair. Most are quite simple and have only minor differences from one brand to another.

Try model engineering shops. I don't have a ZI anymore to check but the thread is likely to be 0.7mm as that's common in cameras. It will be sub 1mm anyway.
