Zeiss IKon ZM stuck, cannot shoot

Hello,

I have a problem with my Zeiss Ikon, it’s annoying, hopefully, somebody can help. I changed the film and now am not able to fire off the camera. It is kind of stuck. I can not forward the film advance lever, it is stuck. Furthermore, this little pin on the bottom, the film rewind button, is loose and bounces back and for.

Has anybody expirienced the same problem or knows a way to solve it? Would be great!

Open the back and slightly turn the film take up spool. You should be able to wind or click the shutter after tweaking it.

What if turning the take up-spool doesn't help?
I've been trying for 20 minutes now, and the advance lever is still stuck. Never had that happen before, the trick described here always used to help...

Try to play with the rewind button and the advance dented rod back and forth. There is something that does not allow the film to be advanced fully, at which point the shutter is inactive. It is only a mechanical problem, the shutter is most likely working OK.

Tried that to no avail. The dented rod seems completely disengaged, the rewind button likewise, it is completely loose and undefined.
I am pretty sure it really is only mechanical, but I can't get it going for the first time since I've owned the camera; guess I'll have to send it in.
What a disappointment...

PS: And before someone asks: yes, the battery is good, and no, the shutter is not cocked. The advance lever got stuck at the very beginning of its travel.

Before you send it away, try to change the batteries - you could have been unlucky - maybe they died as you have changed the film. You should also be able to make the rewind pin return to high position, perhaps try tapping the camera GENTLY, to make it return in place.

Nope, tried the battery afterwards in my Bessa, it's fine.
And the rewind pin is really loose. It easily comes out when I turn the camera right side up, then goes in again when I turn the camera upside down.

What does the rewind pin feel like when you try to rotate the take up spool? Can you feel it try to pop back?

Can't say that it does, it's just loose...

Something seems to be jamming the rewind mechanism. I'm trying to find some schematics, but likely a service is in order.
