Hi all,

Im currently trying to decide if i want to purchase a Zeiss Ikon ZM. My main question is has anyone tried using a FSU Jupiter 8 or Jupiter 12 lens on the camera body?

Will both mount properly to allow RF coupling as well as proper focus?

I know these are screwmount lenses and will have to be used with an M mount adapter but i was hoping that these lenses might work perfectly with the ZM when used with an m mount adapter.

Hopefully they will. If so It is quite likely that i'll be buying a zeiss ikon ZM soon. :)

Both are ok on an M (except the J12 will foul the moving meter cell on M5 and CL). The J12 wont fit late Canons, which have baffles. You need to be careful 1st time you try it on any camera as the rear element is large and penetrates up to the shutter curtain (almost).

Dont know about the ZM and J12, the j8 should be ok though.

Hm.. ok. I knew about the leica M's and the J12... but i'm hoping it will work with the ZM.

Hopefully someone will know.

I tried J-12 but didn't use it. I think it's not a good idea, because it doesn't focus to infinity and you can damage the inner black painting with the back lense.

At the same time all of my J-8 and J-3 fits nice on ZI with Acura adapter. I often use my black J-3 on it. It works fine even at f1.5 without any adjustment.

Aw. :\ I was hoping that I could use my J-12 on a ZM. Drats. :\

But good to hear that the J-8 works good!
