Zeiss is doing good just under 3Bn euros...

Unfortunately this data doesn't tell us a great deal about the extent of Zeiss' future commitment to rangefinder lenses and cameras. These figures include their highly profitable involvement in the supply of missile guidance systems, reconnaissance equipment, telescopic sights et cetera to governments around the world.

I wouldn't be surprised if Leica's Sports Optics division made more money than the camera division, as well, as do their Leica Geosystems (surveying gear) and Leica Microsystems (microscopes) sister companies.

Meanwhile, there still seems to be a shortage of Zeiss rangefinder cameras and lenses....

As well as Nikon, Leica, CV, etc... this isn't their fault I would imagine. Something in the supply chain has gone AWOL I would imagine after the disasters in Japan.

Yep, The Zeiss Ikon is a vehicle for Zeiss to sell their lens (even if the're made by Cosina?).
So when's the next ZM lens coming out:)
