Hi guys

Zeiss has just released new lenses brochures (also for Zeiss Ikon) on their website here:

http://www.zeiss.com/c12567a8003b58b...25735a00441ecf

Besides, for each lens there's a personalized flyer for a faster overview.
Their marketing really did a good job!

ps I've just noticed that the link posted is quite general, however you have to go under the Download center of the service and support section and then choose the "Order brochures" menu.

Notice that they've changed the description of the Sonnar 1,5/50 ZM -- suggesting it specifically for portraiture now, rather than photojournalism as they used to.

That one is definitely on my wish list.

Got mine few days ago and forgot to thank you for the tip.

I announced to my wife that my porn arrived and I'll need a moment alone...but I didn't fool her
She only asked why there was no "Dangerous substance" sign on the envelope :)

Cool, the demo shot for the 15mm is taken in the opera house in my old hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden.

IIRC, Jens Karlsson is/was one of the in-house photographers of the Hasselblad company.

Downloading the preview and flipping through it is enough for me ;)

Ooohh, Distagon T* 35/2 ...

drooolllll....

I got mine few days ago, Innovation, Zeiss Ikon System and Carl Zeiss SLR Lenses.

I was hoping them to come up with SLR lenses in C/Y mount but from the brochure I think seems it is unlikely. Meanwhile I am enjoying the ZM lenses.

Fuwen,
Me too.
I have a fantastic RTSIII and sweet S2, that wait for the new C/Y from Zeiss.
It is outrageous that they left in the dust just those that endorsed the Zeiss technology for so many years in the past.
Meanwhile I bought a couple Nikon bodies to try. For the moment I have the planar 1,4 50
Cheers
Paul

Why wait for new c/y glass I got a 35mm f1.4 and a 85mm f1.4(and more) and they're still one of the best money can buy ! And they will be repaired by zeiss if needed

My understanding was that Kyocera wanted to end the agreement, not Zeiss. Kyocera was manufacturing the bodies and lenses (mainly), not Zeiss. Was I mistaken?

That's right more or less the same construction as now with the zeis ikon system.
I think when the rights of the contax name is not longer kyocera's Zeiss is putting contax on the map again.

I am curious to know what is on the map?
I sold most of my Contax SLR equipment (8 lenses and 3 camera bodies).
I am down to just an S2b and a 50/1.4 for sentimental reasons.
I got an Icon now and I am slowly supplementing it with ZF lenses.
Probably only a 100mm ZF. I want to get a Nikon 500p, but perhaps
"the new Contax" will have a telephoto lens for my needs.
I guess I should not hold my breath.

I eather don,t know what's on the map but I do know that the contax name has a marketing value at least. And maybe in the future zeiss is picking things up again.
That is more or less what you can read on their site. Anyway I stick with my contax stuf. Lenses are serviced by zeiss .And if a Contax body fails i pick up an otherone somewhere
