I've been saving money to get a Zeiss Sonnar 50mm 1.5 for both the Zeiss Ikon ZM and Fuji X-T1
I was ready to click on the 'Buy" button when I read this from Pop Flash's disclaimer;
"because of the differences between film and digital rangefinder cameras - which we cannot control - it is impossible to have a focus optimized C Sonnar for both systems. "
I am assuming is is only an issue when the lens is mounted on a RANGEFINDER digital camera because mirrorless digital cameras focuses through the lens a the set aperture so focus shift wouldn't be an issue.
Then, came the reply to my question from the seller:
Sorry, but we have no idea on the X-T1. The lens was designed for the Ikon and Leica bodies, and while it should be ok on the X-T1, we have no way to confirm.
Has anyone used a Sonnar 1.5 on a Fuji X-T1 extensively? Any focus shift issues at all?
Thanks for your input.

When you focus with an electronic vf, if you have the lens at the aperture you intend to take the shot with, focus will be as you see it in the vf.
If for example you focus at f1.5 on the XT1 and then quickly stop down to f4 before taking the shot without adjusting focus, you may experience the same focus shift "issues" that you would while using a RF camera.

I don't use the X-T1, but do use the X-Pro1 & Sony A7 & yes, as you assumed, so long as you're focusing at your shooting aperture per f16sunshine's caveat, focus shift is not an issue.
