Zeiss Super Ikonta 1V Metering

I guess that we can consider this issue resolved. I think that I'm just used to the way that I learned to meter - adjust the Aperture and Shutter Speed independently, in order to get the correct exposure. I couldn't see how adjusting the LV and coupling both the F/Stopand Shutter Speed together will yield the correct exposure.

After metering the test scenes with my Gossen Luna Pro, I have determined that the Super Ikonta is very close (+/- 1-Stop, maybe better).

Sorry to be such a persistent pest.

Thanks to all who attempted to straighten me out. I guess that my engineering background gets in the way of just accepting things without being proven to me first.

Hi Brad,

You don't have to feel sorry about that. Guess we all had to learn these things one time or another. The difference between E.V. and L.V. (except for the 100 ASA filmsensivity-setting) also lends itself for misunderstandings.

Have fun with your Super Ikonta IV. It's a heck of a camera !

I have this same set up on my Franka Rolfix I and find it very simple to use. Disconnect the Shutter speed dial and F-Stop dial lock, set both to my meter's reading, and then lock back into place. Moving the shutter speed dial or the F-Stop lever now moves both - changing them both to the appropriate settings as you move either one.
