Picked up this little camera for free a few months ago...seems to work fine and I'm just now getting around to testing it. I wouldn't be surprised if something is wrong since was in the free pile, but hey, worth a try:rolleyes:

I'm shooting up some old Kodak Gold 400 in it (28 exposure roll - weird). This camera shoots a square negative...how many shots do you suppose I will get? The counter goes up to 50...

Love the fact that my meter is bigger than the camera:) I will post test shots if and when I have something to show!

A nice little camera, had one once upon a time. :) I found it to be a nice and easygoing camera.

As far as I can see, the trigger seems to be replaced and/or missing a small foldback piece on top of it, but I think it won't be a problem using it. Yours is a prewar camera, with the "lesser" Novar. I hope you have the loose film spool.

You'll get 48 negatives out of a normal 36 roll, so a few less then for a roll of 28. Enough to get through for a test roll anyways! :D

The wind-on/trigger seems to have been replaced with a crude chunk of metal glued on:rolleyes: It works, but looks like a caveman put it there! It came with a generic removable spool --- I tested it with a dummy roll before the actual roll and it works- but when I rewind I will have to cut the leader (it is "locked" in). I am well into the test roll - I'm on frame 26. All speeds, apertures, and focus are smooooth....

Finally have some test results:) Using very expired film Kodak Gold 400 (28 exposure roll) I shot to about frame 36/37 or so. Pictures turned out OK but I only got 31 square images (24x24). Something not right with the counter. Next time I will just shoot until it feels like it's at the end. I was just trying to be careful and not rip the film.

Here's a few examples:

Pretty weird stuff... Like the square... Poor quality, flare, but sort cool:rolleyes:

I have the Tenax II with the 40mm lens. It is a very nice looking camera. Did you use a lens hood?

Hmmm...maybe? I will investigate but honestly I'm ok with the "funk" as is. I'm thinking Tri-X with contrasty lighting could make interesting shots-- especially portraiture !
