I'm trying to determine the serial #'s that distinguish between a Zeiss 100mm F/2 MP ZF.1 and ZF.2 version. So far, using google and bing, I haven't had much luck. What would be an ideal resource would be similar to the new zealand data base for nikkor lenses.

Since this post seems to be beyond the pay grade of # of responders, here is what I'm looking for with respect to Zeiss lenses for Nikon. Now... as you can see, this database has to do with Nikkor lenses. http://www.photosynthesis.co.nz/nikon/serialno.html

Again, my original post was in search for something similar. Why? well, because at least for Nikkor lenses, some folks will advertise them as being Ai-S lenses when in fact they are not. Knowing the serial # establishes the date of manufacture which in turn establishes which version it is.

Now, I understand that if the person has the Zeiss lens sitting in front of them that it is then possible simply by inspection to determine the version. If, however, the person does not have the lens in front of them, but does have the serial #, having a Zeiss lens serial # database would allow that determination to be made.
