I'm thinking of getting this bundle. Based on earlier posts on this forum, it appears there was a significant price increase late 2009 or early 2010.
Does anyone remember what the price of this bundle was before the price increase? I'd like to know if it's basically inline with the changes in the dollar/yen exchange rate.
Thanks.

Different lens, but I paid about $1900 for the Ikon 35/2 bundle in 4/09; the same currently lists for $2300.

Thank you, all.
It appears that if I were to try to recreate the bundle (body, lens, presentation box), the total price in yen terms is about the same. It just terrible that the dollar is so weak these days.

Hi rpasia
I recently bought an Ikon with Planar 50 as a combination (not in a presentation box or anything like that) for 1300 Euros on ebay.de. The seller was in Denmark and is called photografica_com. Last time I checked there was another such combo for sale at the same price.
The transaction went very smoothly.
I have no connection with the seller other than having bought from them.

Photografica is actually a wonderful and well known Leica dealer in Copenhagen. I have visited them repeatedly over the years, and have purchased from them on many occasions. Do not hesitate to buy from them.

Have you asked Tony Rose at PopFlash what he has available and at what price?
I bought my Zeiss ZI bundle from him last year. His price was very competitive.
And, my plug for Tony. He personally took my call and then talked me thru different camera/lens options when I told him it was my "first" new film camera in many, many years. No pressure to buy, just straight talk.
Also, he's a Rangefinder Forum sponsor. So, that's where I go first.

I'm definitely considering the options shared in this thread. The decision will come down to how much the US-based warranty is worth to me (ie, the difference in price between buying from abroad vs from Popflash or B&H, as an example). It's not pocket change!
