Three Zenit 1 / S have returned from restoration from altai .

They are simply superb ! Rough cameras , I was bout to cut my losses when I received a Zenit S from altai . It was so good , and I wanted my 3x Rigid I 22s for Zorki restored , so I sent the Zenits and lenses .

Focusing is superb - with a lovely vintage magnifying effect , to be honest , I would load one of these along with my Zorki S anyday - something I would noyt have said for most dirty , gloomy Zenits with stiff lenses .

If any SLR deserves to be in the company of my Leica II / IIIc and Zorkis , this must be it - the Zenit E just seems to have lost the plot on compactness and delicacy !

The I 22 rigids are fine on the M 8 .. and 1st tests of a Zenit I 50 held up to my PEntax K 10 D seem to capture much of the '' Elmar '' quality which I love on my M 8 .

.. maybe even a mount for the 4/3rds Digilux 3 - giving aneat , tiny portrait 100mm lense !!!
