I've been wondering how the ZI exposure compensation works.

Is the shutter speed changed in 1/3 stop increments? I would guess so.. although the display on the inside only indicates the major stops, as does the wheel on top.

Also, with the ZM lenses, if I click the aperture into the 1/3 increments instead of the major stops, and I stay on aoerture priority mde, the shutter speed appears to stay the same -- does the shutter compensate 1/3 in the other direction?

In AE mode, shutter speeds are stepless, but the viewfinder only shows the closest standard shutter speed. This applies with ZM lenses shifted in 1/3 stop increments or with any other lens.

I think I read somwhere in the technical spec that the shutter speeds are electronically controlled in 12th of a stop increments, not truly stepless but as near as makes no odds for all practical purposes. This sort of thing is not unusual in electronically controlled shutters.

So far the exposures with mine have been bang on in auto mode. V happy with it, using 50mm and 35mm lenses.
