ZI Limited Edition in da house!

Guys 'n gals, this afternoon the mailman delivered PopFlash's gift to the winner of the photo contest (I 😛).

I can tell you that the camera looks fabulous, feels hefty enough, handles smoothly and seems an utterly wonderful beast to use.

The lens is arguably even more fabulous. It's heavy, the glass is superb, the lens is sharp as a nail and focuses smoothly and responsively. I think I'm gonna enjoy this lens!

Tony Rose of PopFlash also packed 2 rolls of film for me to start shooting straight away. The ZI is a Limited Edition, 1 of only 1200 produced, and comes with a special ZI pouch for safe-keeping the camera.

I am over the moon! This is one beautiful set!

The pr0n will have to wait a bit. Work has been occupying my time for the last three days almost around the clock. Haven't had time yet to unpack, set up and shoot some mug shots. But I will, one of these days. 🙂

Erik, the cover is an Aki Asahi vinyl cover (Japanesque Gold). He wasn't too keen at first to cut one for me, suggesting it might look too gaudy. But he put up with me and cut it for me anyway. 🙂 He did a good job too. Looks fab, no? 😛

That is indeed a J-8 on the Epson. It's one of the regular lenses, together with the M-Rokkor 40/2. I fear that the ZI 50/2 is another regular now. The image is crisp and clear, with a ton of fine detail, little distortion, good colour fidelity (not too warm or too cold) and with that same *pop* my M-Rokkor gives (maybe even more).

BTW, anyone dare to guess what's on the M2? 😛 It's blasphemy, I tell you!
