ZM c-biogon 21mm (oily rear thread) normal?

I just received my c-biogon 21mm and I opened the rear cap and saw white oil like on there not the glass element. It seems to smooth the focusing action (I bought it new fom BH photo) and thinking or exchange it.

Is this normal?

Mohammed, there is supposed to be lubrication on the threads of the focusing helical. As long as it is not in/on your elements, I would forget about it and happily use the lens. I can't imagine that it would be "overly lubricated".

I hope it's normal, none of my other zm lenses has this (and it smells like lubricate)

That's fine. I would take a Q-tip and carefully wipe the excess off. I do that sometimes to various lenses when too much lubricant works its way out.

I just q-tipped it 🙂 and it seems that it's much better yet very smooth, Thankfully.

Thank you Keith. Time to get it a roll through this wonderful lens.

I also got the zeiss finder and it's so bright that the ZI viewfinder looks dark in comparison. It fit very tight but it's better than loose.

BTW, I have the Zeiss 25/2.8 as well and mine became extremely dry. The lubricant just dried up. The lens would squeek when I focused. I never had that happen before. I took it to a local repair, they relubed it, and it's going fine.
