ZM lens mount brassing?

Has anyone experienced brassing with the bayonet mounts of ZM lenses?

I have several new-style lenses (with the "coding" groove) - including a new one that was mounted maybe a dozen times - that have the chrome wearing off the mount, inboard of the groove (so the part of the mount closest to the center).

This is with an M typ 240 and 246. I can see that the mounts are sandblasted, but that shouldn't be making them so abrasive as to take chrome off the lenses.

Ideas?

None of my lenses have the "coding groove" but several have a slight step such than an inner-diameter ring contacts the camera flange while an outer ring section does not... step is only about .005" ... No signs of any brassing with CV and Zeiss lenses.

Yes I am experiencing the same with ZM lenses on digital M - Biogon 35mm f2 and Sonnar 50mm f1.5 on original Monochrom.

Do not expect Leica quality with CV lenses. It is not there.

Same with CV made Zeiss, although they are better.

Brassimg yes. Also my CV Zeiss ZM back caps seldom fit other lenses well, even when new. I assumed both were caused by a smaller gap between the bayonet prongs and mounting face such that the fit is tighter and more pressure is put on the mount. But I've not measured. Also, I suppose, a very thin chrome plate.

I am a bit confused as to how a bit of brassing on the lens mount equates to quality, good or bad. Or perhaps this is a little more Leica koolaid.

I have several ZM lenses and they all continue to return stunning quality after several years of ownership.

I just feel bad that the photog is not as great as the lenses are.
