zone vi with 90mm

Hi

Recently I acquired Zone Vi 4x5 which comes with Fuji 90mm.

But I found focusing without bag bellow is really hard for me.

Does anybody used this guy with 90mm ? I really want to know

how to set focus without extra bag bellow. Picture mostly is appreciated ^^
 
I have a Zone VI, the Caltar 90mm and the bag bellows...If I remember correctly you cannot use this lens without the bag bellows...
I have the 75, 90, 150 and 210 all Caltar and recently picked up a Kodak Ektar 127 and a Bausch & Lomb 190mm Tessar...

I don't think the normal bellows has enough flex in it to use this lens and even if it did you'd have no movement...even with the bag you have to tilt the front standard back so you don't run out of rail...
I think Calumet still sells them...if not the used market or ebay...very rare on ebay...
They're not cheap $$$...so you really want to give a used one a good look over...check for any possible light leaks...the original version wasn't all that good...
I sometimes use it with the 150mm lens, if I need big moves...

I need to research recessed lensboard for cheap solution. I can't even dream of using 75mm
without bag bellow. shame on me to pick up this gear.
 
You push the front standard back so it is not vertical and not parallel to the rear, raise the lens a little, and add a bit of forward/down tilt. The bellows will then fully compress and a 90 will focus to infinity. Because the bellows are so compressed, much movement is lost.

Recessed boards a pain to use, but I have made them for Zone 6. Aircraft plywood, glue and paint and stain. But I have been a modeler for many decades.

The cat`s meow is a bag bellows. Z 6 works beautifully. The biggest draw back is the camera will not fold up with the bag in place. It works well with lenses up to 210 mm.

I just wish I knew how to put a RF on one.

There were several versions of the Zone VI. The best version being the one's built in Vermont when Richard Ritter supervised production.

Did you ask the seller how they used the 90mm lens? I have heard owners say they can use a 75mm lens with the Vermont built model. I am saving up for bag bellows and 75mm lens for my Vermont made camera.

ps: My camera works much better with longer lenses out to 14".
