Zorki 1B - shutter speed dial removal

I can't remove the shutter speed dial by just removing the screw and pull it slightly. How much of physical force can I use? 😱
Also, the RF sensor does not seem to have the right tension to fully adjust with the lens. It stays at 2 mtrs when going closer... How to fix? Is it a spring that needs to be adjusted?

You wrote screw. It seems there are 2 screwS well, on my Z1 of 1955.... This may explain why you can't pull it out ;-)

No, it has just one screw. Serial#16137... Engraved logo, soft shell, early model that shares much with the FED1 I think...

And if it was threaded and the screw was just a locking device ? Try to see if there is a thread under the button, maybe the thread shows ???

I'm not sure where you mean it should be? Is the button itself threaded? I thught the screw was only a locking screw...

The winding knob is threaded on my Z1 and is locked in position with a very tiny screw preventing the knob to become lose. I wonder if it is not the same design on your speed dial ?
Try to have a look at Fed-1 disaembly instructions to see if there are something special on them ?
I've no links on hand, but there are plenty of picts on the Internet, maybe you can figure out what's happening.

Yes, you had right. It came loose like on FED1, threaded itself...go figure. What if I'd used some good ol ultra violence?

Glad you got the speed dial off OK. Now about your second problem. The rf sensor should be spring loaded thruout its travel. Take the lens off and move the sensor arm with your finger while looking thru the viewfinder. You should be able to match images at infinity and also at 1 meter just by moving the sensor with your finger and feel the spring tension at each end of the travel. Look for anything that might be interfering with the sensor arm if it does not look and feel right.

The tension is weak or gone the last 3mm of travel. It moves freely though. I took it apart but it looks like it's not adjustable. The spring itself is ok, it's the arm or rather the part of the arm that is connected with the spring cam that I guess is the problem. It's pretty close to focus right at 1 meter but I have yet to find a tiny screwdriver for the infinity adjustment.
