Hi,

I just got my first RF (Zorki-2c) in great condition but with one fault - the shutter speed dial is wobbly and setting mark rotates with the dial (somewhat irregularly). The shutter fires okay but I would like to get it fixed. Is it a know fault with a simple fix I can try myself?

Also could anyone please advise where can I get it fixed in Melbourne, Australia?

Thanks,
Alex

I am probably misunderstanding but just in case: on many older cameras it is normal for the shutter dial to rotate when the shutter is fired.

I should have been clearer in my post. The setting mark rotates when I set the shutter speed, not when the shutter is fired.

Anyway I think I fixed it by tightening the setting mark screw.

Slacken the tiny grub-screws around the periphery of the dial enough to lift it off (try to avoid taking them out since they are a pain to get back in and VERY easy to lose!). Now you'll see a hole in the inner shaft. Put a tiny screwdriver or pin through the hole and tighten the shaft. Now replace the dial, line it up correctly and re-tighten the grub screws - job done! It's a common enough problem on a Zorki 2C.
