Long story short, I was trying to fix the focus of my zorki but after trying to adjust infinity by turning the screw I discovered that the rangefinder coupler bit no longer springs forward so it is always recessed in the camera unless i physically pull it up. So all attempts I have made to fix the camera have indeed made things worse. Are there any places in Melbourne where I could get the camera repaired or any helpful forum members that might be able to help out?

If you actually want to pay to have work done on a Zorki, then you should try Shutterbox at 1163 Toorak Rd Camberwell (just near the Hartwell railway bridge). I have had work done there in the past and I would thoroughly recommend them.

P.S. I am not knocking Zorkis, I have several myself. It's just that the cost of repairs is usually more than the value of the camera.

Their website shows a 35mm enlarger that can handle MF too... for under $300? Anyone had any experience with these?

Hi thanks for the recommendation, i'd like to repair it mainly because of the sentimental value, the zorki being my first rangefinder and hopefully the cost of repair would be less then buying a new ltm camera and since I did spend a while on ebay trying to get the zorki in the first place I'm not keen on getting involved in the sniping game anytime soon (unless you know a reasonably price bricks and mortar shop in melbourne that has ltm/m cameras! e.g. not michaels :p).

I understand completely why you would not want to buy from Michaels, and I think most APUG members in Melbourne would agree. I'm afraid I couldn't recommend any bricks and mortar shop in Melbourne with reasonable prices; all the ones I know seem to be in a 1980s time warp. At least Shutterbox are not going to tell you that film is dead and try to steer you towards some digi-crap. They are genuine repairers and they know mechanical cameras well.

So I got my zorki repaired at camera exchange in box hill which was conveniently only a 10 min drive. Vic Plant is a very good repair person he notified me that it probably wasn't worth it to repair (good on him!) and when I got it back everything was working as expected. Highly recommended although it was costly and only sentimental reasons would make it worth paying someone to repair a zorki.
