I just got it today (hooray!), mostly for the lens (Jupiter 8), which is fine. The camera also works, with the exception of the rangefinder. It is far too blurry, and I think it needs a good cleaning, and recoloring of the secondary mirror. Does anyone have good instructions for this? With pictures would be good.

I have a similar problem with mine. The following sites were suggested to me in an earlier post and may be helpful.

I have thoroughly cleaned the viwfinder and rangefinder now but frankly it's still poor. I also have sticky shutter problems, the wind on is awful and the operation is very noisy. The Jupiter lens shows up very poorly in comparitive tests with a Sonnar and with my Yashica GTN f1.7 so I am fairly disillusioned with the camera - now lives on the shelf with other has-beens. At least they are cheap.

I hope thast you have better luck. I'm sticking to my trusty Yashica GTN as a working rangefinder.

Well, it turns out that the blurriness is due to my not adjusting the diopter 🙄. Silly me. But I still have a secondary problem. The rangefinder mirror needs to be adjusted vertically. Does anyone know how to do this? I have got the hang of getting the top housing off, but I am not sure at all what to screw/unscrew to adjust the mirror. Thanks for the help so far.

It took a bit of cleaning and lubing to get my vertical adjustment screw to budge. It's not necessary to take the top off to do it, but it was helpful in my case because it wasn't going nowhere :|

Sorry to be bothersome, but could you either describe the procedure or post pictures of the vertical adjusment screw on the Zorki? I can figure out which one it is. I feel that it would be a great little camera if I could fix the vertical alignment. Thanks.

Minor adjustment can be done through the optical wedge and if this does not give enough flexibility, you have to adjust the prism [the glass block behind the optical wedge] through two screws [on top] which moves the prism like a "see-saw". That should get your vertical alignment in shape. Good luck!
