And it's all a moot point now, because stupid me set the shutter speed without cocking the shutter first. Now the shutter won't fire. :bang: :bang: :bang:

Time for a trip back to Mother Russia for a visit with Uncle Oleg!!!
 
Try moving the shutter speed dial again. This may cock the shutter or it may not. If it does, then fire the shutter and you should be back to normal.

RichardS: I moved the shutter dial several times, but it didn't correct the problem. :(

Iskra: Maybe he'll fix both of ours at the same time!
 
Yep. I checked that, too. Twisted it around both ways and no difference. You can wind the knob and it will get to a point where it will stop, but when you press the release, the shutter doesn't fire.

I broke it good, in other words. :(
