Zorki 4 shutter speed dial question

I bit the bullit tonight and bought a Zorki 4 on ebay. I noticed that most of the 4's listed had much of the shutter speed numbers rubbed off and was wondering if anybody knew how to renew or replace the numbers.. 🙄

I plan to CLA the camera and maybe paint it before trying it out. Also should I replace the Industar-50 50mm f/3.5?? Or is this a good lens??

Try this:
SHUTTER SPEED DIAL(CLICK)
The I-50 lens may not be as glamorous as a Jupiter-8, but it is in my opinion a fine lens. I use a collapsible one quite alot on my Zorki and FED.
If you can live with the slow f3.5 aperture, I wouldn't be in a big hurry to replace it.

You shouldn't have a problem with the Zorki 4 shutter speed numbers. They are engraved as opposed to painted.

The early Zorki 4 shutter speeds are engraved but the later ones are screen printed , Not to sure of the dates but my 55 has the engraved dial and my 66 also but I have a 64 spares camera that is screen printed 😕

This one is a 70 series with the silk screened numbers. See attached photo

The exposure counter is rubbing off on my 4k. I use a collapsible I-50 and think its a brilliant lens. Check my gallery and you can see the difference between an I-50 and a J-8. I think I picked up excellent versions of both lenses.

Not the greatest photo's in the world, but theres a bokeh comparison. Dont trust the contrast on the photo's as they've been photoshopped slightly

Also, if you need to, the shutter speed dial is held on by two screws from below, inside the top cover.
