I have a Zorki 4 on the way and was wondering if the name on the front plate is engraved or silkscreened like the shutter speed numbers.
I plan to overhaul it as soon as it arrives and paint it..I may even get a new cover for it from Aki-Asahi.

As far as I know, it'll mirror the shutter speeds. If the speeds are engraved, the logo should be engraved too. My 4 and 4K both have silkscreened name and shutter speeds.

Not always! When the change over was made from engraving to silkscreening, some engraved parts were left over. Those were used up before the newer parts were put into production. Hence, you will occasionally find a body from the early '60s with, say, a silkscreened logo but an engraved shutter speed dial.

hey, they're only Zorkis
If you have a pic, to my knowledge, the "block style" letters are silkscreened while the more "script style" lettering was engraved. Good luck. Enjoy.
