Zorki 4k Shutter ceasing

My Zorki 4k has started ceasing on any speed below 8th of second.
Does anyone know if this is an inherit problem? also if anyone else has encountered this issue, how did they get round it? Does it just need a clean and re-lube?

Can you explain a bit better? Do you mean seizing, not working? What happens, does the shutter fail to open or fail to close? Normally, when the slower speeds start failing to close it does mean a CLA is needed.

the shutter only opens half way, then closes completely once time has expired, its still fine on speeds higher than 8th

There may be insufficient tension on the first curtain but it sounds more likely that it's due for a CLA. It's likely to get progressively worse. If you fancy a go at sorting it yourself, there's a sticky thread to show you how to do it.

If you don't fancy a DIY job, there are several repairers that can do the job. I'm not going to recommend one, since I've done these jobs myself on mine, so I can't speak from experience of using anyone else. See if anyone else recommends someone...
