I recently acquired a Zorki C. I eventually completely disassembled it to remove a lot old old grease in the gearing so it would function in midwestern outdoor temperatures. However, I'm not sure I reassembled the shutter release/rewind mechanism correctly. I'm also curious - is there any lock for the shutter release? I've had it go off in my pocket a few times. Anyway, this is the current state of the release - there is a red dot on the shutter release plunger - it faces the rear of the camera and does not rotate. There is a black dot on the rewind release collar - it faces the rear of the camera also and will rotate clockwise to release the gearing to allow for rewinding. It will not rotate counterclockwise toward the red upside down bulls head. I don't know the meaning of the symbols around the rewind collar - other than the collar has to rotate clockwise to allow the film to rewind. I thought the shutter plunger somewhat oddly designed when I dissembled it - a sleeve within a sleeve - I'm not sure why this design is necessary.
