Does anyone know if it is possible to fit a Zorki 4 with the fixed take up spool from a FED 4 or 5?

The spool isn't fixed in the FED 4 and 5, it simply doesn't drop out like the Zorki 4's does. They drive and are retained differently and the answer to your queston is no. Putting a FED 4 spool into a Zorki 4 allows it to fall out just the same, with the somewhat inconvenient downside of no drive either.

Some late Feds have slotted cylinder spools which are fixed. However the Fed-4 cameras I have seen have had conventional push fit spools.

My mistake, you're correct and I'd forgotten about that style. Some late Feds have slotted cylinder spools which are fixed. However the Fed-4 cameras I have seen have had conventional push fit spools.
From looking at a Zorki 4 and FED 5B, I suspect the fixed, slotted style cannot be fitted, although I haven't actually tried it.
